Ogni pezzo DELAIA nasce dalla fusione a cera persa, la stessa tecnica usata da millenni per dare forma al metallo. Le forme nascono dall'incontro tra antichità e natura: rami, coralli, radici, conchiglie — elementi che la terra scolpisce da sempre, e che io traduco in metallo, ispirandomi a miti, simboli e pietre che l'uomo porta con sé da sempre.

Each DELAIA piece begins with lost-wax casting, the same technique used for millennia to shape metal. The forms grow out of a meeting between antiquity and nature — branches, coral, roots, shells — elements the earth has always sculpted, which I translate into metal, drawing on myths, symbols and stones humankind has carried with it since the beginning of time.

Negli anni ho capito che ciò che mi emoziona davvero non è la perfezione, ma tutto ciò che porta con sé una storia. Credo che la bellezza risieda nelle imperfezioni, nelle tracce che il tempo lascia e nell'unicità di ogni cosa.

Over the years I've come to understand that what truly moves me isn't perfection, but everything that carries a story with it. I believe beauty lives in imperfection, in the marks time leaves behind, and in the uniqueness of every object.

Da questa visione nasce DELAIA: gioielli creati a mano, pensati per essere irripetibili. Lavoro principalmente bronzo, argento e oro, dando forma a creazioni pensate per durare nel tempo.

From this vision DELAIA was born: jewelry made by hand, meant to be one of a kind. I work mainly in bronze, silver and gold, shaping creations built to last.

La fusione a cera persa

Lost-wax casting

È una delle tecniche più antiche dell'oreficeria: le prime testimonianze risalgono a oltre 6000 anni fa, nel Calcolitico, quando le civiltà della Mesopotamia e dell'Egitto iniziarono a fondere il metallo in questo modo. Fu poi perfezionata dagli Etruschi e dai Greci, e tramandata nei secoli fino alle botteghe orafe del Rinascimento.

It is one of the oldest techniques in goldsmithing: the earliest evidence dates back more than 6,000 years, to the Chalcolithic period, when the civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt first began casting metal this way. It was later refined by the Etruscans and the Greeks, and passed down through the centuries to the goldsmith workshops of the Renaissance.

Ogni pezzo nasce da un modello scolpito a mano in cera, racchiuso in uno stampo e poi fuso: nell'attimo in cui il metallo viene colato, la cera si scioglie e lascia il proprio posto alla forma definitiva. Un processo lento, antico, imperfetto per natura — ed è proprio per questo che ogni gioiello che ne nasce è irripetibile.

Each piece begins as a model hand-carved in wax, encased in a mold and then cast: at the moment the metal is poured, the wax melts away, making room for the final form. A slow process, ancient, imperfect by nature — and it is precisely for that reason that every piece of jewelry born from it is one of a kind.

Il nome Nereus arriva dalla mitologia greca antica: richiama Nereo, il dio del mare, simbolo di saggezza, verità e della forza quieta dell'oceano. Le sue forme sinuose disegnano il ramo di corallo attorno al dito.

The name Nereus comes from ancient Greek mythology: it recalls Nereus, the god of the sea, a symbol of wisdom, truth and the ocean's quiet strength. Its sinuous forms trace the branch of coral around the finger.
